Links to Holistic and other health related sites. Some of these links are really good, and some are completely wacky. I leave you to judge them for yourself. As usual mail me if you find a broken link or want to have a link added.

Not strictly a holistic site, but certainly health related and very good. |
|
|
The BBC Online health web site. Loads of excellent stuff and they have a weekly newsletter you can subscribe to. |
| Stress Assess v2.1 | On online stress assessment questionnaire. As it says: "Stress assess is an educational tool designed to enhance your knowledge about stress. It is not a clinical instrument or diagnostic tool. The program will evaluate your current stress sources, distress symptoms and lifestyle behaviors. Based on your personalized assessment, you can learn healthy and effective strategies to balance the stress in your life." |
|
The home of Reflexology. A portal to many reflexology based web sites. |
|
The Internet Health Library. Looks jolly good as far as it goes but is a bit incomplete. Also they have a very blinkered policy of not including any research based on animals. Very high minded, but demonstrating a lack of understanding of what scientific research is for and can achieve. |

A Geneva based, not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to "promote the effective and reliable use of the new technologies for telemedicine in healthcare around the world." |

A source of medical research papers. Very comprehensive and thorough. I particularly like the evidence based health care. Traditional scientific medicine as it should be (see also The Bandolier, below) |
|
Evidence Based Health Journal |
Those who say Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) cannot be measured by the same criteria as Tradional Aliopathic Medicine (TAM) should read this. Also provides actual research to back up and refute media health sensations. |
Quackwatch |
From their mission Statement: "Quackwatch, Inc., a member of Consumer Federation of America, is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to combat health-related frauds, myths, fads, and fallacies. Its primary focus is on quackery-related information that is difficult or impossible to get elsewhere." |

A private medical company. You don't have to pay anything to use their very informative web site, though. The fact sheets are particularly good. |

The organisation which examines me and issues my qualifications. Their academic standards seem very lax (compared to, say, the Open University). Still, they're very popular and if they were to be a bit less arbitrary and more forthcomming with information they might be liked more by those who have to endure them. |
British ComplementaryMedical Association |
An umbrella organisation which represents various complimentary health organisations including IPTI (Independent Professional Therapists International), my own professional body which sadly does not have its own web site. Supported by and supports the internet health library. Also, they don't know how to format HTML headers. I know they're therapists not programmers, but you think they'd hire someone who had a clue. |
|
Another site which sells things, this time alternative health stuff. It has some information too. |
|
This site is about as non-holistic as you can get. It treats dieting as an engineering exercise in optimisation. It's all true, though. |
| Biology@MindQuest.net | An excellent site for anatomy and physiology reference stuff. |
|
Another biology reference site. I use this one for doing my Anatomy and Physiology homework. |
|
A site dedicated to human anatomy and the internal combustion engine. Don't even think about asking. |
|
The UK Stress management site. |
| The Stress Monitor | Another site about stress management. Some useful papers and articles. |

The only time it will cease to be under construction is when it becomes my obitury.
